Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, is seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor, tenure track position in Higher Education in the Department of Education beginning August 2013.
Qualifications: Required qualifications include an earned doctorate (PhD) in higher education, college student personnel administration, or closely related field. Desirable qualifications include: evidence of full-time experience working in higher education and/or student affairs; professional association involvement; scholarly work other than the dissertation; teaching experience at the post-secondary level, ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students; and success in securing research funds and/ or participation in funded projects. Preference will be given to scholars with expertise and teaching interests within higher education, experience working with diverse student populations, teaching experience using on-line formats, outstanding communication skills, and demonstrated ability to develop and implement a line of research.
Duties: Responsibilities include teaching graduate courses in higher education administration and/or student personnel administration both face-to-face and online, advising and mentoring graduate students, supervising doctoral dissertations, participating in on-going program development initiatives, engaging in research/scholarly activities, and serving on assigned committees.
