More than $150,000 was raised at the 2012 Mentors Award Gala to benefit the treatment and education programs for at-risk youth served by Optimist Youth Homes & Family Services.

Held Oct. 17 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel Los Angeles, the evening honored two of Optimist?s major supporters ? Tyler James Williams, Actor, and Phil Infelise, longtime Optimist Youth Homes? board member. A special Helping Hand award was given to the Lawndale Optimist Club. Co-hosted by KTLA?s Michaela Pereira and Chris Schauble, over 275 guests feted Williams and Infelise at the dinner and auction. The dinner chairs were Tom Spiel, president of Mc-Spi Inc., McDonald?s owner/operator, and recipient of the 2011 Mentor Award, and George Murphy, retired CPA, Optimist Youth Homes Advisory Board member and the 2011 Humanitarian Award recipient

The proceeds include $34,000, which was raised through a live auction at the gala and earmarked to match a challenge grant from the Weingart Foundation.

Cindy Osbrink, founder and owner of The Osbrink Agency, presented Williams with the coveted Mentor Award while Supervisor Don Knabe presented Infelise with a Lifetime Achievement Award via a pre-recorded video. Both awards were furnished by the Lladro Boutique in Beverly Hills.
